ABOUT US
The CNY Latino was a venture project started by Hugo Acosta, with the intentions to provide a general interest publication to the Hispanic community in Central New York, and at the same time, to provide a vehicle for communication to this ethnic group. This experimental project started with personal investment as a trial to see how the local readership will respond; now, with an increased demand for more distribution, wider coverage, and more frequency, it has become a highly wanted reading material to the 84% of the Latino population in Central New York.
The CNY Latino newspaper provides reading material of general topics, usually of designated interest to the Hispanic community. The entire content is intended to be in "bilingual" format, and targeted to a diverse consumer. It contains periodic columns and frequent subjects of interest, and each month bears a theme that either is related to the times of that month, or to a current issue, usually of direct interest to the Latino population.
Currently the CNY Latino newspaper is being developed and put together by a staff of several volunteers that play the roles of writers, translators, editors, and distributors. This development is being supervised and managed by its founder, Hugo Acosta. The distribution is performed the 3rd or 4th of each month, by delivering several bundles in several allocation points, where the local public can pick up the individual editions, FREE of charge. The CNY Latino has also a paid delivery system, where a subscription order can be made to have each monthly edition delivered to your house or office.
