proudly announce a Hispanic Writing Project
"Proud to be..."
ANCLA and CNY Latino are encouraging the Latino community to participate in the 1st writing project to answer the statement "Proud to be...". The writing can be written in English or Spanish, communicated through song, poetry or story
The length is determined by the entry's grade level. Elementary student's entry should be between 100 - 150 words, Middle School between 150 - 250 words, High School between 300 - 500 words and adult entries between 300 - 500 words

The event will be a year long celebration. Each month a committee of community, businesses and parents will select one entry from each category to be a winner of that category as well as being published in the CNY Latino newspaper. We will ask community agencies / companies in the area to display entries in their lobbies. The first winner will be published in February 2008, the 4th anniversary edition of CNY Latino newspaper
The mission of the writing project is to share with the Syracuse Community all the positive expressions by Latinos
